Netflix’s One Piece Live Action

I watched the Netflix’s One Piece Live Action a few weeks ago and it was great! They had finally broken the “Anime Live Action” curse, hooray! Everyone was casted well, especially Luffy. I understand why Oda sensei had immediately picked him for the role. From his attitude to his personality, he is Luffy!

It would have been nice if it was a 10-episode series rather than 8, the scriptwriters would have been able to illustrate more detailed sub-stories like the ones in Syrup Village and Loguetown. I understand why they went in this direction, but there could have been more. There is hope that the 2nd season will be even better, that is the only way to go now, especially when they introduce Tony Tony Chopper.

The Birth of a Drama King (少年江湖物語)

I just started watch this series and love it so far. It is adapted from BL web novel, The Wrong Way to a Demon Sect Leader (论如何错误地套路一个魔教教主), but rather than be lovers, they are brothers. I do not mind the writers changing the relationship between the two leads, as long as, it is modified in a tasteful way. This is the case for The Birth of a Drama King. It is rather a low budget production and pass censorship. Hooray! I will write more about it after I finish the series.
