What defines Arashi?

After being a fangirl for over 3+ years, this was definitely not a hard one to answer. There are so many elements which defines Arashi who they are — their friendship, personality, dedication, perseverance and diversity.

Arashi’s bond and close-knit are extremely rare among bands now-in-days. They genuinely care and enjoy spending time for one another…with so much love and respect, utterly pure friendship. I truly love the fact they are the best of friends (more like brothers), willingness to share the same spotlight and appreciate one another. Their natural chemistry and unity can be seen especially during their performances and singing.

Another aspect of Arashi is their unique personalities. Five different individuals with five different charisma, this what makes them so special. Their caring, generous and down-to-earth nature makes them a lovable and wholesome group; they are guys that you would like to hang out and chat with. The fusion of Riida’s tranquility, Sho-kun’s intelligence, Aiba-chan’s tenderhearted, Nino’s mischievousness and Jun-kun’s seriousness creates a vibrant and beautiful pentagon.

Arashi’s utmost dedication and perseverance contribute to their continuous success. Their years of struggles and overcoming many obstacles truly showcases their hardwork, I applauded them for their commitment, patience, and endurance. I love how the boys have matured together in the last 12 years, they are quite inspiring and amazing.

Diversity also defines Arashi, I do not recall any other band that provides such variety and color. We have Oh-chan who is an artist; Sho-kun is a newscaster and writes his own rap lyrics; Aiba works as a part-time zookeeper for a variety show; Nino is a professional magician and Jun-kun is a talented actor. This is only alongside of their variety show hosting and MCs. Arashi is an extremely well-rounded and exceptional group. Due to their solo works, each member stands out as an individual as opposed to other bands. In most cases, there is only one or two members become popular while the rest fade into the background.

Arashi is truly an astounding group of five who brings smiles and energy, as well as, amazing songs, performances, variety shows and drama.

今回の地震で被害に遭われた皆様に、心よりお悔やみ、お見舞い申し上げます。

連日の報道を見れば見るほど、知れば知るほど、被災された皆さんのことが、とても心配です。

沢山のファンの方が、僕らのことまで気にかけて下さっていると聞きましたが、僕たちは全員大丈夫です。ご安心下さい。

いま、節電・節水・緊急時以外の電話の使用を控えること・義援金の協力…、東京にいる僕たちができることに努めています。きっと、小さなことの積み重ねが大きな力になることを信じて。

僕たちの活動の中で、できることは限られていると思いますが、“皆さんが少しでも笑顔になれるように…”と想いをこめて、目の前にあることに全力で取り組んでいきます。

被災地の皆さんにとって、まだまだ予断を許さない状況は続いているとは思いますが、ご家族やお友達、周りの方々と励ましあって、何とか今を乗り越えられるよう、メンバー一同願っています。

The more we watch the daily reports, the more we know (about the devastation), the more worried we get about those affected by the disaster.
We’ve heard that many fans are worrying for us even. All of us are alright. Please do not worry.
In Tokyo, we are doing what we can in moderating our usage of electricity, water and the usage of the telephone unnecessarily, and in making donations… Please have faith that small actions can build on each other to form a great force.
Although there is a limit to what we can do in schedules, we will put our greatest effort in doing what is before us, bearing the thought “I hope we can make everyone smile even if just a bit”.
For those from the areas struck by the disaster, although the situation is still continuing to be unpredictable, all our members hope that with mutual encourage from family, friends and people around you, we can ride this through somehow.

I’ve been following the news intensely regarding the nuclear plant issue. It’s quite devastating to know another worrisome situation burdens them. My thoughts and prayers are with Japan for everyone’s safety.

I hope we can make everyone smile even if just a bit.
Bravo to Arashi and everyone are extending their hands to help those in need. Let’s all continue to pray for them.

Did everyone see this? The VS Arashi website was recently updated with the boys’ promotion poster, it’s certainly very kakkoii. Too bad they don’t sell these, I would love to hang one on my wall.

Arashi opens ARASHI LAND in Hokkaido this summer

According to what was sent to us earlier tonight, they will officially announce tomorrow about opening of the place where anyone can feel Arashi’s atmosphere freely anytime. Arashi have planned this project in return for their fans who made it possible for them to celebrate their gorgeous 10th anniversary. After run-up of more than one year, the construction is going to be finished before long. So it seems like they have finally decided to announce this confidential project.

ARASHI LAND is composed of the theme zones which are produced by each members.

Aiba Masaki zone: zoo with usable systems from ‘Masaki.com’
Matsumoto Jun zone: amusement park which features tremendous roller-coasters as a main ride
Sakurai Sho zone: safety inspected rental boat made of paper, salt and so on
Ohno Satoshi zone: fishing pond where even red sea bream and bonito can be found
Ninomiya Kazunari zone: utterly original game arcade (includes everything even the game soundtracks)

It is said that other features such as futsal ground, karaoke with petit-lifter and petit-truck and even a belt conveyor restaurant of familiar food at Shukudai-kun are also under construction. We only know the site is in Hokkaido, but the access seems to be considerably bad because they said it takes one hour by bicycle from nearest railway station. Therefore Arashi seems to be enthusiastic to build the hotel near the ARASHI LAND at any cost by their 15th anniversary. However, they said the problem is Ohno Satoshi insists that the hotel must be built by Arashi themselves.

As I am afraid this project will be quite problematic, I will interview about them in detail at tomorrow’s press conference.

Happy April Fools!! LOL Were you fooled? Not I this time , I recalled reading something similar last year, but still had a good laugh while skimming through this one. It’s a wonderful joke ne, wish it were true though or I would be the first in line to order tickets. Maybe the boys can open something like this for their 20th anniversary along with conquering space. LOL

Arashi (嵐) is celebrating their 11th anniversary this year. In addition to music, they are busy with dramas, CMs and variety shows as well. In the last episode of the drama “Tokujou Kabachi!! (特上カバチ！！)” starring Sho Sakurai (櫻井翔) which to be aired on March 21st, the leader Satoshi Ohno (大野智) will appear as a guest. One day before the shooting, during the break of the Arashi regular TV show, he practiced lines with Kazunari Ninomiya (二宮和也) and made one shot pass.

Each member shared their own thoughts on the group on the occasion of 11th anniversary.

Satoshi Ohno: “I am happy that we have received a lot of greeting at the 10th anniversary. However, Arashi hasn’t changed basically.”

Masaki Aiba (相葉雅紀): “I will cherish everything from now and hope to express my passion to everyone.”

Jun Matsumoto (松本潤): “I want to learn something from last past ten years and show a brand new side of Arashi in this year.”

Kazunari Ninomiya: “No matter being happy or bitter, all five of us will take and move forward together. This is Arashi.”

Sho Sakurai: “‘They seem happy, they are doing something silly.’ I will be happy if everyone will feel the same with us.”

They were asked about what they wanted to do most.
Matsumoto: “I simply want to return to the start and straighten up everything.”
Aiba: “Diving. I want to see the world deep under the ocean.”
Ninomiya: “I want to try to compose game music, seriously.”
Ohno: “I want to travel around the world.”
Sakurai: “I want to review the drama of 80′s.”

Obviously, deep bond among members can be seen from their comment, as well as their challenge spirit.

Nino is sweet ne, helping out Riida with his lines for the guest appearance on Tokujou Kabachi!! Also, Neener + game music would be a sure win, I would definitely buy it.

So Oh-chan wants to travel around the world, I really hope he comes to the US. We welcome him and his cruiser at anytime.

Today marks the one year anniversary to my Arashic obsession. Has it been that long? It feels like yesterday that I was watching the first episode of Jun-kun’s drama, Bambino and my ears caught the catchy theme-song.

It is not a surprise that my obsession has not faded like most fandoms which I have come across. There are so many reasons to love Arashi – their friendship, humbleness, diversity, and attitude.

I admire Arashi as a whole and every one of its members — the DoS Jun-kun, the My Pace Riida, the Prankster Nino, the Baka Aiba-chan, and the Chesto Sho-kun. They are one fabulous group…did I say that they are cute as well..hehe!

Arashi’s bond and closeness is extremely rare among bands today. You can feel that they genuinely care and enjoy spending time with one another. I truly love the fact they are the best of friends (more like brothers) and are wiling to share the same spotlight The boys are also always encouraging each other no matter what the interest is. One does not get emotionally if they do not sincerely appreciate each other, this is evident at the following clips:

Though, the attitude of each member is diverse, however, they are overall humble. They could be at the top of the world, but they are wiling to share the moment and to acknowledge whom had assist them throughout the journey. I have read on a few accounts of how Jun-kun would memorize the names of the staff for their variety/talk shows, dramas and CMs. I am sure this is the same for all of the boys, they truly understand the importance of teamwork, every aspect is required for success, not just who’s on-screen.

Also, their humbleness is clearly documented in Mago Mago Arashi. Watching the episodes where they become grandchildren for a day is quite heartwarming. There is a sense of I am doing this because I want to, not because I have to. They can simply do a wishy-washy job when helping the ojiisan and obaachan, put on fake smiles and broadcast a skit. This is definitely not the case; it might be hard at times, but the boys are willing to learn and to do the job right. Helping the elderly defines what it means. They also take the extra step of making the occasion a memorable event – planned a wedding ceremony for a couple that didn’t have an official one due to personal/finance situations; held a gathering of close friends for a widow who lost his wife for 30 years; helped fulfill a 15 year dream for an ojiisan who wants to reopen his dojo and many more.

Arashi appear to be so natural on tape — their talks flow so smoothly and do not mind what is being filmed. Though, Arashi is an idol group, but they are not afraid of displaying their affection (to grope, to hug and to cling to each other as they pleased) and baka-ness on screen. This displays their talent to entertain. The enjoyment level is alway high no matter which variety show you are watching. There is never an ounce of boredom, it is always fun and exciting. From being a grandchildren for a day to catching balls with a basket to bizarre experiments.

The group is also challengers of the future, their eagerness to explore the unknown is rare and unique. Enthusiasm is shown in every absurd and outrageous experiment that is performed even if it is evident that it will go bad. Come on!! Like crossing a river with a boat made of leaves and a human flying in a air balloon made of newspaper!

Their individual talents also allow them to pursue non-traditional and interesting activities. I do not recall any other band with so much diversity. Their songs are so full of energy and encouragement, they never fail to make me smile, even on the gloomiest day. Quite addictive as well, I could listen them all day long. Though, I have to admit that I do not enjoy 100% of their songs, however, 98% is love. There is always plenty to select from – R&B to hip-hop to rock.

I have a feeling that Arashi will be my ichiban, always! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate their wonderful acting, performances, and songs. Sooo happy that they are part of my life!
