Arashi going on hiatus after 12/31/2020

I am sure that everyone has seen or heard of Arashi going on hiatus in 2021.

This was a complete blindside, I was pretty surprise by this unexpected announcement. :( However, I wasn’t in denial nor shock as the SMAP break-up, which even the slightest idea would have been rejected. I vented for days to my friends who thought I was crazy. LOL

I was pretty calm for this. Now, all I have for my beloved Arashi is understanding and support. 💕 They deserve to take a break as they have been working since their teens. Their tight-knit-ness (is that even a word?) is evident during their explanation on how thorough their discussions were for this conclusion. I am glad that it was collaborative and Arashi is all for one and one for all. They can come back whenever they are ready (hopefully get married and with have families), I will wait for them forever. I am just very happy to have been a part of this incredible Arashian family.

Arashi announces largest tour record ever with 50 concerts and 2.37 million audience

From AramaJapan

Arashi held their Tokyo leg of  “ARASHI Anniversary Tour 5 × 20” at the Tokyo Dome on the 23rd. On this day, the unannounced “and more” phase of their tour has been announced! Their anniversary tour will total 50 performances and bring in 2.37 million audience, the largest tour record in Japan. With more than 2 million registered fanclub members, it was difficult for fans to score a ticket to an Arashi concert. The latest scale of the group’s tour will be able to accommodate a huge number of their fans.

Sakurai Sho comments “It was difficult to meet all fans. Finally we can announce it. I would like to see fans who we were not able to see until now, until the end of next year. We are holding the biggest tour in the history of Arashi.”

Matsumuto Jun “Since we haven’t done 50 concerts until now, I wonder what will happen? I hope you can see it while looking back on the past 20 years. I hope the power of our songs can be conveyed.”

The group has collaborated with Japanese visual and tehnical teams such as teamLab and WOW. There are plenty of contents such as an opening production using 2 million Swarovski crystals in costumes, gondolas, and an “ARASHI MOVING STAGE” that runs around the arena.”

Wow, it’s already their 20th anniversary! I have been kind of a sluggish fan lately (shame on me lol), but I will definitely be on the look out for their activities. I cannot wait for their DVD to be released on this.

Kimura Takuya and Ninomiya Kazunari to star in new movie!!

Kimura Takuya and Ninomiya Kazunari will be co-starring in a new movie titled “Kensatsugawa no Zainin” (Criminal for the Prosecution). This is the first time an Arashi and former SMAP member will be co-starring and is being tagged as a “Dream Collaboration” between these two top stars.

This suspense film is based on the 2013 novel of by Shizukui Shusuke and will be directed by Harada Masato (Japan’s Longest Day, Kakekomi, Sekigahara).

In the upcoming film, both Kimura and Ninomiya will play Tokyo public prosecutors. Kimura plays the lead as an elite public prosecutor Mogami Takeshi while Ninomiya plays novice prosecutor Okino Keiichiro who looks up to Mogami as a mentor. They both are assigned to a case with the suspect, Matsukura Shigeo, previously involved in a murder case of a middle school girl, which has already passed its statute of limitations. Mogami (Kimura) is bent on proving Matsukura’s guilt as his failure to put him to justice caused the death of his most beloved person. He is also aware of the heavy grief carried by the deceased girl’s family. As Okino (Ninomiya) doubts Mogami’s persistence in setting up the suspect as the culprit, tensions mount between the two as they stand off against each other.

“Kensatsugawa no Zainin” will be filmed from July to August and will be released 2018.

What do you think of this collab? Will we finally see Kimura on an Arashi show in the future? What more can we expect to happen?
