Happy September and Belated 28th to MatsuJun!

Don’t worry, I’m still alive and kicking, just have been tied up with other things in life. I hope everyone is well and was able survived that nasty little storm that had the east coast last weekend. My prayers to all!

The site might be going on and off for the next few days, I might be switching to another hosting provider and will be performing some testing. Don’t panic, I will be back shortly. LOL

BTW, my PS3 finally died on me after 4 years of goodness. It ran perfectly for 10 minutes before the “yellow light of death” appeared and nothing works now. From what I read online, this can be fixed by taking the darn thing apart, “re-flowing the motherboard” and reapplying some thermal compound to the GPU and CPU. Well, this is one more thing to add to my weekend things-to-do list. Maybe I’m lucky enough to get it running again and then trade it for store credit to purchase a new one…let’s hope.

Aside from that I’ve become quite fond of yaoi…yep you heard right…. I blame my friend who introduced Gravitation to me a few weeks back. LOL She knew my undying admiration for Inoue-sensei and wouldn’t miss a chance watching his works…now I have a whole new world/genre to experience! :D

Isn’t Jun-kun’s smile is amazing? It always seems to brighten my day, I hope he was able to spend some time relaxing on his special day. :D

Arashi’s Matsumoto Jun to star in Ninagawa Yukio play Aa, Kouya

This fall, Arashi member Matsumoto Jun (27) will star in a stage play for the first time in five years. His last lead role on the stage was in 2006 in Ninagawa Yukio’s “Byakuya no Valkyrie,” and he is again teaming up with Ninagawa for a play called “Aa, Kouya” (“Ah, Wilderness”).

“Aa, Kouya” was the first full-length novel by the late Terayama Shuji, originally published during the mid-1960s. This is the first time that the book has been adapted as a theatrical production.

Set in Shinjuku, the story revolves around two young men who stake their youths on boxing. Koide Keisuke (27) will play Matsumoto’s rival. Both of them are preparing their bodies in gyms ahead of rehearsals, which will begin in late September.

“Aa, Kouya” will be performed at the Saitama Arts Foundation from October 29 to November 6, and at the Aoyama Theatre in Tokyo from November 13 to December 2.

Priest Matsujun welcomes you to make a vow

Opening the doors to the chapel had revealed priest Jun Matsumoto (27) waiting at the alter, ready for people to make a “潤いの誓い (vow of moisture)”. This was the setting for the Arashi star’s commercial event today in Tokyo, reports Oricon.

The popstar has been chosen to promote Daio Paper’s エリエール (Erie-ru)「+Water」tissues, and appeared in front of the press in a priest costume.

“I’m not married, and not everyone gets to stand where the priest does so I was really nervous today,” Matsumoto said.

In the commercial, Matsumoto shows how the tissues have 170 per cent more liquid in them compared to Daio Paper’s previous products by touching them and wiping his face with them.

Matsumoto continued to comment on the product’s keyword “潤い (moisture)”.

“It’s a Japanese character I see a lot (潤) so I was really happy.

“I had discussions with the (commercial’s) director about what we could do to make it clear that this was something totally different (from previous products),” he said.

During the event, Matsumoto was labelled the “潤い男子 (Moisture Men)” representative after he had commented that tissues were something people use every day, and although “it might only be a small thing, it gives you warm and fuzzy feelings”.

When the press asked Matsumoto whether he called himself an 潤い男子, the singer took a moment to think and grinned.

“I hope the word ‘潤い男子’ becomes the next popular phrase like イケメン男子 (Ikemen Danshi, handsome men). Please make it happen,” he said.

+Water tissue commercials will begin airing on TV from September 23, while the tissues will go on sale from October 1.

Ninomiya, Fukuda, Ichimura and others to have guest roles in Matsumoto’s drama

Arashi’s Kazunari Ninomiya (27) as a props technician and Kyoko Fukuda (27) as an assistant producer are the roles guest actors will be playing in the final of Jun Matsumoto’s summer drama next week, it was revealed yesterday, reports Sankei Sports.

The drama “夏の恋は虹色に輝く (Natsu no Koi wa Niji-iro ni Kagayaku)” follows the romance between a second-generation actor Taiga Kusunoki (Matsumoto) and single mother Shiori Kitamura (Yuko Takeuchi). The final focuses on the Taiga’s work in the stage play of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

The guest actor list for the final has revealed a line up of many A-list Japanese actors, including Masachika Ichimura (61) who plays a stage actor who had gotten the role of Claudius in the play.

Ichimura had previously starred with Matsumoto in 2007′s drama series “Bambino!” and had said he had been extremely excited to be able to work with the popstar again.

It has been reported that Arashi’s Nino, who plays a props technician, also has a scene with Matsumoto, but how the two character’s will interact with one another has been left as a surprise for Monday.

Other guests include Kyoko Fukuda as an assistant producer role, Yukiya Kitamura (36) as an actor who plays Hamlet, and Mari Natsuki (58) as a singer role.
