KAT-TUN’s Love Yourself ~ Kimi Ga Kirai Na Kimi Ga Suki
I just started watching the live-action of Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge and have become addicted to the themesong. It’s been playing non-stop since last night and probably going to be another favorite.
Love Yourself ~ Kimi Ga Kirai Na Kimi Ga Suki is a fabulous song despite its overuse of autotone. I find this aspect to be quite fitting for the heroine of the drama, Nakahara Sunako. Its metro, fast paced melody along with the encouraging lyrics adds charismatic to the composition. I especially like chorus, though, the rap portion doesn’t make sense once again.
May I say Kame looks very attractive in the drama, much more built and healthier than his Sapuri days.
Love yourself ~Kimi ga kirai na kimi ga suki~
(Love yourself ~I love this you that you hate~)
Lyrics: JOKER
Composer: Tatsugoo
Romaji and English Lyrics:
Kisetsu wa mata meguri mekurumeku machi
Daremo kimi no koto wo ki ni tomezu mawaru
Sonna no dou demo ii
Tada kimi ga soba ni ireba ii
Seasons go round again, a dazzling city
Everyone passes oblivious of you
That’s it, you shouldn’t care
It’s ok as long as you’re by my side

Arashi – Once Again
How in the world did I miss this song??? Really, I’ve must have been living in my own little world when Dream-A-Live was released and probably, I didn’t bother to download the RE.
Once Again is simply pure awesomeness! Without doubt, it has become an instant favorite of mine! I love the dark composition along with smooth vocals of the boys, in perfect harmony. The rap sequence is arranged nicely just prior to the last chorus, fabulously sang by Sho-kun as always.
I would love to see this one live…unfortunately, the Dream-A-Live concert DVD has not been released yet. Mostly likely, it never will!
Fancam, anyone??? Hopefully, the boy will have it arranged in a future one, let’s all pray!!
This is such an awesome fanvideo, the song fits perfectly with the scenes.
Here are the Kanji and English lyrics:
Once Again
Lyrics:Wonderland
Rap: Sakurai Sho
Music : Alfred Tuohey & Thanh Bui
もう一度 僕らは今 動き出した未来へ
漕ぎ出せ 胸に想い刻み込んで
つかみ取れるさ 手を伸ばせば まだ
忘れていた 夢がそこにある
Once again, we’re moving towards the future now.
Starting to row, engraving the feelings in my heart.
I can reach out if I extend my hands,
the forgotten dreams are still there.
僕らずっと飛べなくて 空見上げ眺めてた
何にも出来ず当てもなく ただ探し続けたあの頃
We can never fly, we look up to the sky.
Unable to do anything, without aim, we continued to search back then.

Kanjani8′s Sakura Uta – Oh!Enka
I’m sharing another fave of me, Oh!Enka by Kanjani8. You know those fun crazy boys from Kansai.
I really like the historical context of the lyrics along with the mixture of enka and modern melodies. The hint of conservative-ism adds a local flair to the song — the boys’ love for their hometown, Osaka. Overall, the song is very catchy and genki, you feel so cheerful after listening to.
Here are the lyrics in Romaji and English:
Nande yaro naa…sakura miteru to, metcha setsuna nan nen
Oton, okan…ore mo itsuka wa
Shikkari hana sakashitaru kara na! Mitoite ya!
I wonder why…when I look at the cherry blossoms, it’s so bittersweet
Dad, Mom…someday
I’ll bloom, too! Just watch!

Kinki Kids’ Namida, Hitohira
Recently, I came across Namida, Hitohira while previewing Kinki Kids’ Phi (Φ) album. Compared to the boys norm, the melody is quite upbeat, somehow it reminds me of Cantopop of the 1990s. Its catchy tune and smooth vocals of the Domoto duo, make it very enjoyable, as well as, addictive. The song has quickly become a favorite of mine.
By the way, this is the themesong to the comedy series, Sushi Oji, which had starred Koichi-kun a few years back. I have not gotten a chance to watch it though, but I heard it was pure crack.
Here are the lyrics In Romaji and English:
Naida, Hitohira(涙、ひとひら) – Tears, One Drop
Just get up, Just get up. Just get up, Don’t give up. Believe you
Without losing pure feelings
Just get up, Just get up. Just get up, Don’t give up. Believe you
Without losing pure eyes

Arashi – Troublemaker Single to be released
The boys’ first 2010 single will be released March 3, 2010. Here’s the description from Yesasia:
The first artist to top Oricon’s annual single, album, music DVD, and overall sales charts in the same year, Arashi was without a doubt the biggest act in J-pop in 2009. The group is coming out equally strong in 2010 with the new eighties-style power pop single Troublemaker, the theme song of Sakurai Sho’s TV drama Tokujo Kabachi!!. Side track Yurase, Ima wo is NTV’s theme song for their 2010 Winter Olympics broadcast.
Looks like the limited edition comes with the music video DVD along the regular/normal one includes a bonus track titled Mo Ippo.
They can be pre-ordered on Yesasia at Limited Edition and Regular Version.
Guess I was wrong, had thought it would be a double-A side this time, but I’m still very happy.
You’ve got to love the title, Troublemaker…hehe! On a side note, I truly hope that Sora Takaku will be on the next single or album release, love this one to bits too.

Arashi – Sora Takaku & Troublemaker (full version previews)
Here’s the full version of Sora Takaku, themesong to Saigo no Yakusoku’s which had starred all five of our boys:
This definitely caught me by surprise, wasn’t expecting an upbeat song, maybe something along the lines of dark and sexy like Truth. But I have no complaints, Sora Takaku is a very good song. As always, the Sakurap is awesome and the lyrics represent so many things, which Jun-kun had previously pointed out. The Kanji, Romanji and English lyrics can be found here. I enjoy it even more after reading them!
…and here’s Troublemaker, themesong to Sho-kun’s drama - Tokujo Kabachi!!:
Are you ready~? Loving it so far, the beat is so energetic, I could listen to this the entire day!
The lyrics can be found here.

Arashi provides 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics themesong
While L’Arc~en~Ciel provides the theme song for NHK’s coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and singer Ai Otsuka does the same for Fuji TV, this time Arashi’s been appointed to sing the theme song for NTV. The song is titled, “Yurase, Ima Wo” and so far no other details have been revealed (as to whether it’ll be released on CD etc..). The song will also be used as the winter theme for NTV’s news show, Zoom In SUPER. This is the 3rd time that Arashi gets to sing an Olympic theme, the formers being “Hero” used for 2004 Athens Summer Olympics and “Kaze no Mukou E” for 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.

Yurase, Ima Wo preview:
Weeee~ A new song, I’m liking it so far. It’s quite catchy and addictive, cannot wait for the full version. Hmm…I wonder if Sho-kun will going to Vancouver to do some news coverage, though its a bit too far from where I am.

Takahashi Yoko’s Cruel Angel’s Thesis
I had started watching Neon Genesis Evangelion a few days ago and absolutely fell in love with its themesong, 残酷な天使のテーゼ (Cruel Angel’s Thesis). I believe it’s consider one of the best anime songs, and the title definitely holds true.
It has an catchy and upbeat tempo, meaningful lyrics and powerful vocals by Takahashi Yoko (高橋洋子). It’s an epic solo, providing a message that one should take the challenge and control his or her own destiny. Extremely addicting after the first taste.
Lyrics -- Romaji and English
Zankoku na tenshi no you ni
Shonen yo, shinwa ni nare…
Like an angel with no sense of mercy
young boy rises to the heavens, becoming a legend
Aoi kaze ga ima mune no doa wo tataitemo,
Watashi dake wo tada mitsumete
Hohoenderu Anata
Sotto Fureru mono
Motomeru koto ni muchuu de,
