Kim Nam-Gil Challenge Month – Day 29

Day 29: Favorite Kim Nam-Gil Road Show

It would be the Kim Nam Gil Special Stage 2016 Road Show. I stumbled upon a few clips on Youtube and would love to get my hands on a copy of its DVD. Oppa has a nice singing voice, which I enjoy listening to, and probably with some training, he would make a good professional singer. He is best with upbeat songs like Here I Am (originally by Min Kyung Hoon), suits more of his true personality. I never really got into Can’t I Love You?, Bidam’s character song from Queen Seondeok. Okay, sue me? lol Hopefully,  his outcoming road show will feature him singing The Fiery Priest OST. Wouldn’t that be a treat?!

Teasers that someone had so kindly shared:

Kim Nam-Gil Challenge Month – Day 12

Day 12: Most favorite fan-made video of one of his characters

I have seen quite a few FMV of Bidam over the Internet, Moonlight (月光) is among the best. It is the themesong to 3D Chinese animation series, The Legend of Qin (秦时明月) and suits Bidam perfectly.

I am not familiar with Anson Hu (胡彥斌) until I came across this FMV and found his vocals to be powerful and unique, as well as, smooth and velvety. The way he conveys raw emotions through music is impressively beautiful.

Moonlight represents Bidam wonderfully. The lyrics showcase the different phrases of his journey, what he experienced and endured — from loneliness to love to pain. It defines the life of a skilled swordsman, often in solitude, scarred and tragic due to many different factors, much like Bidam’s. The scene selection was nicely done as well, weaving his tale to correspond with the song. :)

Whenever I watch this FMW, my heartstrings are always tugged. Poor Bidam, let me give you a hug. He would have been more suitable in a vagabond life (江湖) rather than politics. The last scene in the FMV gave me such a feeling. If he just left, he would be freed and be the master of whatever he wants. Though, I cannot ponder how much regret and sorrow, Bidam would have been without Deokman. *sigh* Though, I hate to admit this, his ending was appropriate after re-watching Queen Seondeok multiple times. lol

Crossing my fingers, maybe in the future, Nam-Gil oppa and Lee Yo-Won can be reunited in a modern series together. I don’t think Yo-Won ssi does romantic series anymore, don’t quote me on that. lol Just having the two of them sharing the screen is enough for me.

Here are the lyrics in English, Chinese and Pinyin…

Song Title: 月光 | Moonlight
Singer: 胡彥斌 | Anson Hu
Composer: 胡彥斌 | Anson Hu
Lyricist: 林文炫 | Tiger Lin
English Translation: DeniseJF

(The colour of the moonlight, the sweet fragrence of women)
yuè guāng sè nǚ zǐ xiāng

(Sword broken by tears, affection lasts for how long)
lèi duàn jiàn    qíng duō zhǎng

(How painful, no words can describe)
yǒu duō tòng    wú zì xiǎng

(Forgotten about you)
wàng le nǐ

(Who laughs, he's lovestruck)
shuí qù xiào    chī qíng láng

(This is battle field of mortals)
zhè hóng chén de zhàn chǎng

(Thousands of military soldiers, who can be named King)
qiān jūn wàn mǎ    yǒu shuí néng chēng wáng

(Surprassing gates of love, who dares to cross)
guò qíng guān   shuí gǎn chuǎng

(Looking at the bright moonlight, heart filled with misery)
wàng míng yuè   xīn bēi liáng

(Hatred through the years, rebirth and taste it again)
qiān gǔ hèn    lún huí cháng

(Once eyes closed, who's the most insane)
yǎn yī bì     shuí zuì kuáng

(The uncertainty of the world)

GOT7’S Interview with Forbes

The interview was a delight to read, the U.S. ones are always insightful and well-organized. The boys seem very comfortable and certainly have matured quite a bit.

LOL JB being the cat lady.

Real Hero (真英雄) by Dicky Cheung (張衛健)

Sharing a new favorite song of mine by Dicky Cheung (張衛健) who is one of my childhood TV crushes. He become an addiction after watching his fabulous and charismatic performance in TVB’s Journey to West. XD Though, I have long passed on since then, but he is still kept on my radar. Dicky remains charming, mischievous, adorable, and energetic as always, I continue to admire his dedication and devotion to his work and family. He definitely has matured nicely, can you believe he is 51 now?

Real Hero (真英雄) is a fantastic epic song suitable for a historical drama with a non-mainland China flair. Dicky is from Hong Kong if you’re wondering and I am quite biased about China, but my love and curiosity for its stories involving historical periods and key figures, may they be actual or fictional, endlessly continues. XD Real Hero illustrates about life during the turbulence times and transition of dynasties and war. It highlights the emotional journey and pride of being soldier, weaving his own tale. It’s wonderfully composed and written with an upbeat melody. Dicky’s performance was superb, leaving a deep impression with a sense of proudness, satisfaction, and gratification.

Inebriated, [I] lie down upon the battlefield, listening to the hoarseness of rallying cries.
Smiling, [I] watch the display of fireworks and the sea of lanterns [that light up] this world of man.
Counting [the number of times] the whole world shook, [it] is no more than scar after scar.
One becomes a king if successful and a bandit if defeated, the consequences of a single decision.

Life and death [are decided in] a moment. Heroism forever radiates splendor.
The land is so vast; where is home?
Making [my] way past outpost after outpost, watching the fireworks of an age of prosperity,
[I] have won all of the world [but] lost her.

Having overturned the world, [I] covet a night of boasting.
Life is no more than a vicious fight at close quarters.
Scarlet blood dyes the yellow sand. Youth turns into white hair.
If one is a real hero, how could one be afraid?

Quick swords cut through tangled hemp. Shining spears accompany armored horses.
[I’ll] take care of and arrange the mountains and rivers of old before taking off.
[Riding upon] an undying warhorse, [my] heart will not crumble.
I am a real hero—how could it be false?

My Romeo by Jessi

Just finished watching Cinderella and Four Knights and fell in love with this fun and adorable drama, especially the OST. Park So-Dam , who plays Eun Ha-Won, is one fabulous and talented actress, this is the second series I have seen from her and she is definitely a favorite of mine now. Her 4 knights were superb as well, Jung Il-Woo is certainly one hottie. Anyway, my bias from the OST is My Romeo by Jessi (Lucky J). The 90’s melody immediately caught by attention along with her unique and amazing vocals. I have seen Jessi a few times on Korean variety shows, mainly associated as a rapper, but she can definitely sing. Love the sassy, funkiness and finesse.

The stranger who crosses my heart
I can’t take my eyes off you
A whisper that comes into my closed heart
It softly melts me

nae maeumeul garojireuneun Stranger
nuneul ttel suga eopseo
dathin nae mame deullyeooneun Whisper
salmyeosi nareul nogyeo

Dazzling, my destiny
I knew it was destiny right away
My Romeo of my dreams
I knew it was the love I’ve been waiting for
Can you feel my heartbeat

nunbusin My destiny
hannune nan unmyeongin geol arassjyo
kkumsogui My Romeo
gidaryeoon sarangin geol neukkyeossjyo
Can you feel my heartbeat

Baby take me take me take me away
Hurry and come to me, take me away
Baby tell me tell me tell me tonight
Tell me what I’ve been waiting for

Baby take me take me take me away
eoseo naege wa nal deryeoga jwo
Baby tell me tell me tell me tonight
gidaryeowasseossdeon geu hanmadi
