MIRROR’S Catch a Vibe

I came across Anson Lo and Edan Lui while watching the Hong Kong version of Ossan’s Love last year and didn’t think about their band, MIRROR, until now. Just out of curiosity, I decided to listen to their songs to see if I like any of them and maybe even support a new boy band.

Hehe…it’s been a while since I supported any and one of Hong Kong would be out of the questions if it was years ago. It was mainly into Jpop. The Cantonese entertainment business has been sadly declining and dying after the handover in 1997. I’ll try anything from Hong Kong now-in-days. MIRROR is quite popular and the boys seems talented in many areas such as dancing, acting, song-writing, etc. Though, it will take me a while until I get to know the 12-member band.

Catch a Vibe fits the bill; it has a upbeat and catchy melody. Fun and positive. What better way to celebrate their 5th debut anniversary.

Do Do Cheng Praises Xiao Zhan’s Performance in The Untamed

I was checking out some old episodes of the Hong Kong radio talk show, 口水多过浪花 (When I Was Young I Listen To The Radio) and found a gem. Carol (Do Do) Cheng was praising the performance of Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo, who would have thought?! DoDo Jie is a renowned actress and talk show host in Hong Kong. It was a surprise and delight to hear from someone in entertainment business that enjoys BL content and had lots of fun watching the series. She shares her insights and her newfound love for the boys. I love how she is also not afraid to be a fangirling. Everyone knows, once you step into The Untamed world, there is no going back.

Someone, wonderful, had uploaded the snippets from the radio show on BiliBili. Unfortunately, there’s no English subs; if you understand Cantonese or traditional Chinese characters, you can give it a listen.

Best WangXian/BJYX FMVs

Don’t we all miss WangXian and bjyx (博君一肖) on screen!? I found some FMVs that are fabulous and can patch up the void until we get some new merchandise from The Untamed store at Taobao. The content creators at BiliBili are so creative and talented, their editing skills are god-like. Each has stories of their own, it’s like watching fanfic come to life. I never get tired of watching these gorgeous actors together, their chemistry is impeccable. Hopefully, some day they will be able to act together again.
