Finished watching Wok of Love, which was entertaining, light-hearted, and hilarious. Highly recommended for a good laugh and the food-porn, nothing serious since it does have a talking horse.
Jang Hyuk (Doo Chil Sung) portrays a gangster, loan-shark who was adorable and dorky when it comes to his unrequited love for Jung Ryeo Won (Dan Sae Woo). I knew immediately that the second lead syndrome was gonna kick-in during the beginning of the series when Sae Woo told him off the bat, there wasn’t gonna be any chances between them. You can also tell that she only has eyes for Seo Poong (main lead portrayed by Lee Jun Ho). I don’t have anything against him, but we’re talking about Jang Hyuk here, who could resist. lol He does do it in a weird Chil Sung style, saying since it was only one-side, he can love as much as he wants. hehe
I just finished watching Hanzawa Naoki and absolutely fell in love with the drama, as well as, the super talented, adorable Sakai Masato. I encourage everyone to give this a try and guaranteed that you will be hooked. It is definitely more than your average man-in-suit TV series, a suspense thriller scripted and produced in all the right ways. May I say that the cast members looking dashing in their attire, there is always something charming about an ikemen no matter what age they are.
Without a doubt, this masterpiece will entertain you with its powerful performance, leaving you waiting for more after each episode. Its orchestral score which is used as the background music is stunning and builds up the needed atmosphere for each scene. Another amazing achievement is that the finale had an average of 42.2% viewership; out-rating the imfamous Kimura Takuya. Well, I guess that king needs to move aside one of these days, I still love Kimura to bits though.
Here’s its synopsis from TBS:
Hanzawa Naoki works for Tokyo Chuo Bank as the head of the Loans Division at their Osaka Nishi branch. The overbearing branch manager, Asano, forces him to award an unsecured loan of 500 million yen to Nishi Osaka Steel. On the surface, Nishi Osaka Steel seems like a very reputable company, but in actual fact it is a company in deep trouble. Debt-ridden, the company accountants resort to window-dressing the financial statements in order to hide the truth from the public. Three months after the loan, Nishi Osaka Steel goes bankrupt and the ambitious and power-hungry Asano makes Hanzawa the scapegoat for the 500 million loss. Hanzawa is called to Tokyo to answer to the internal investigations team, where he vehemently denies responsibility for the loss, and swears to recover the 500 million yen. That is the only course of action for Hanzawa, if he wants to survive in the banking industry.
Look it even has fanart, that got to tell you something….
I stumbled upon this webseries by accident on Wednesday while checking a few manga titles at Barnes and Noble. They were advertising the comic book version of Husbands and out of curiosity, the banner was clicked and the rest became history.
I cannot tell you how happy and excited I am to recommend this romantic comedy to all. Yes, its for everyone and not just us, Yaoi fans. To be honest, this is the first ever sitcom that I’ve watch with real life actors portraying in a non-heterosexual relationship as the main focus. However, with Husbands, it was beyond two guys kissing and attraction was the storytelling which was brilliant written and scripted by the creative and ultra-talented Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer, Jane Espenson and Internet sensation, Brad Bell. Its truly intelligent, charming and witty with loads of social satire that can be appreciated.
You can find the full episodes of first two seasons on Youtube and the third on CW Seed. The episodes are short but the execution is astonishing, you will learn more about our adorable couple, Cheeks (Brad Bell) and Brady Kelly (Sean Hemeon), in a few minutes than a full length film…and I kid you not. Also, Brady is a super smexy with his amazing abs while Cheeks is sweet and geeky. Do check it out when you have a few minutes, I guarantee that you will fall in love with it. Did I mention that it is free?!
I’m telling you that Zoro x Sanji are canon!! LOL I was watching the new episode and out of nowhere, a true ZoSan moment was animated!! XD Nami’s and Sanji’s soul had switch so he’s in her body at the moment.
Kyaa~~ Zoro had tried to prevent Sanji from falling when he slipped, quickly reached for his hand and immersed into their own world for a second. Even Brook thought the gesture was romantic. XD Well…maybe it was performed unconsciously, but Zoro knew it was the Love-Cook and only reverted the action violently since Soul King was there, probably due to embarrassment.
