After watching The Pirates (2014), I cannot tell you how much I love this film and needed to fangirl over Kim Nam-Gil oppa. His performance portraying Jang Sa-Jung, the dorky bandit, was outstandingly entertaining along with Yeo-wol (Son Ye-Jin), the amazing pirate captain. The entire cast was equally fabulous, especially the talented Yoo Hae-Jin as Chul-Bong. It was so much fun to watch, I was grinning like a Cheshire cat from beginning to end! :) I might give the movie another run this weekend. XD
There were some news that a sequel is in development stages…crossing my fingers that Nam-Gil oppa and Ye-Jin ssi will accept their roles again. It would just would not be the same without them.
Pirates has similar elements and pays tribute to Pirates of the Caribbean, which is another fave of mine. I am not going to discuss anything specific at this time, except for Jang Sa-Jung. hehe
Why I adore Jang Sa-Jung?
Jang appears to be shameless, clumsy, bumbling, and loony on the exterior. Though, he is actually a righteous bad-ass who is loyal and kindhearted. We can see why Yeo-wol was captivated by his quirky charms. He can be quite romantic and cute at times. Who can resist a long-haired, attractive swordman with some moves?!
