Arashi’s new primetime show

NTV has confirmed that popular group Arashi will have a new prime time show starting this spring. Tentatively titled “Arashi ni Shiyagare,” the show will occupy the Saturday 10:00pm time slot left open by “Enta no Kamisama,” which is ending in March.

The program is described as an improvised entertainment variety show. Each episode will feature a guest celebrity, but the members of Arashi will not be told in advance who the guest is nor what the guest will be doing on the show.

It appears that the main segment of the show will have a different guest each week to teach the Arashi members an entertainment skill in various fields, including comedy, rakugo, and kabuki. Called “The Set,” this segment will take place on various “sets,” such as a theater or kabuki stage.

“Arashi ni Shiyagare” premieres in April. Arashi already hosts two other shows during prime time.

I’m looking forward to this, what can be better than Arashi plus no script and unknown guests? I have no doubt that the the boys will do wonderfully.

Does this also mean that Shukudai-kun will end?! No more Ogu-san, pink talks and Aibaland?? Let’s all hope that the new program is an addition and not a replacement. The boys are certainly going to be mecha busy, ganbare!

No one Reported Masaki Aiba’s Overseas Travel?

Arashi attended a morning TV news program MEZAMASHI TV and were interviewed about their new year special plan on Jan.7th.

They were asked “How did you spend your new year?” The leader Ohno answered: “I went to my parents’ house on Jan.2th and had a bingo party with my family. There were four family members and one people from my father’s company.” Other Arashi members pointed out that ‘the people from Ohno’s father’s company’ always appeared on their family gathering, “Isn’t that person always there?” “Don’t always mention him.” “Are you playing bowling with that guy?” “He came to the annual party, didn’t he?” questioned by other members.

On the other hand, Aiba had a “sad” episode in the new year:”I went abroad. And I was well-prepared and imagined that I would be asked by journalists ‘Where is Mr.Aiba going?’ However, no one came. I felt a little bit lonely, so I made two of my friends asked questions to me (as the journalists).”

As to the other members, Ninomiya rearranged his receipts at home, while Sakurai went to parents’ at the countryside and Matsumoto took a domestic trip. They seemed enjoy the new year quite much!

This was simply hilarious, what a great way to start the day! Arashi interviews are purely crank!!

Poor Aiba-chan, I guess the media hasn’t been able to place a sensor on him yet. LOL

I’m wondering if Riida is living by himself now. Has he finally gotten his own apartment and his driver’s license?? Maybe he can invite all of the members to his lair and have a party together.

Nino and his receipts! LMAO

Fuji TV promotes drama special with Arashi colors

Arashi appeared at the Light-Up event in Fuji TV at Odaiba on Jan.5th. All the lights covering on the north side of the building were lighted up, in order to promote their new drama “Saigo no Yakusoku / 最後の約束”. Each member has his own color, Satoshi Ohno with blue, Sho Sakurai with red, Masaki Aiba with green, Kazunari Ninomiya with yellow and Jun Matsumoto with purple.

They also start the work for the new year as Arashi the day before yesterday. It was the first time for them to perform on the NHK Kohaku Gassen (紅白歌合戦) last year. “I was really nervous, feeling like I arrived somewhere unusual.” said Nino. Matsumoto revealed his aim as well, “I hope we work with distinction so that we can perform on Kohaku again this year.”

In the light-up event, they switched on the light with hand putting together, showing the great relationship among five members.

Sakurai commented the ‘Arashi Color (嵐色)’ blazing up the beginning of the new year, “It is a good start! The drama will strengthen the bond not only among five characters but also among Arashi members. It is a precious property to us at the time of 10th anniversary.”

To the new 2010, they also promised that they will “bring their own color into full play like these five colors.” (said Matumoto).

Sugoi, the promotion for the drama is on such a grand scale and this is only a two-hour special. First, there was the bondage at Omotesando Station and now it’s lighting up Odaiba. I’m definitely looking forward to it!
