Wow, another single this year, that makes a total of 6! Our boys will definitely top the charts again! I always enjoy listening to new songs, but 6 is a good number to end 2010 ne…my poor, poor wallet. Looking forward to the themesong and Christmas one.

Arashi VS Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz who visited Japan to promote their movie, “Knight and Day”, will make an appearance on Arashi’s popular variety show “VS Arashi.” The corner they will make an appearance on is “Rolling coin tower”, in which the guests and Arashi members confront each other to see how many coins they can pile on the rotating table.

Since this is the first time to welcome Hollywood stars as guests on “VS Arashi”, all members were extremely excited, especially, Sakurai Sho who is a big fan of Cameron.

The episode will be broad-casted on October 14th as a two hour special!

LOL at Cameron Diaz when she said, who doesn’t know who Arashi is?! The boys had answered in such a humble yet hilarious way. Sho-kun was probably was grinning non-stop, we can definitely picture that. I wonder if Tom Cruise knows who Nino is, both of them have worked with Watanabe Ken. CHO excited for this episode, the 14th seem so far away though.

I thought that the Hollywood celebrity was just for one time (like the interview with Jun-kun and Angelina Jolie), but this appears to be ongoing. I bet it was only a distance dream when the boys had mentioned having a foreign star guest on their show…so proud of them, they have come so far.

Kyaa~~ at the historical setting, I absolutely adore the integration, being a history freak. I wonder if this is the same one used in the movie. Though, I enjoyed the MS performance better, the boys are still handsome here. Jun-kun’s jacket adds a lovely touch of color to the PV. For some reason, Ohno reminds of a monk LOL…it’s probably the beads, but still nice.

Overall, this ballad is beautiful, quite bittersweet and emotional. I love the ending:

Eien ni kanawanai
We can’t wish for eternity

Sore demo itoshii hito yo
But even so, you are the person dearest to me

You can tell that I’m a sucker for angst love. Everyone has been complaining about the title of the song — where is the snow or it’s too early for Christmas? I do not believe this is for white fluff, but holds a deeper meaning, a metaphor. Snow probably symbolizes purity, innocence and virtue. The Ooku certainly is a place without these characteristics. No matter if it houses men or women, the place is tainted with greedy, hatred, and lust. I haven’t gone a chance to read the manga yet, but am positive that Mizuno Yunoshin (portrayed by Nino) and the shogun (played by Shibasaki Kou) do not have clean slates — hidden secrets, dark past, etc. It is possible that their encounter is life changing and invigorating.
