Arashi – Dear Snow PV and my thoughts on the song

Dear Snow PV – making of photo version

Kyaa~~ at the historical setting, I absolutely adore the integration, being a history freak. I wonder if this is the same one used in the movie. Though, I enjoyed the MS performance better, the boys are still handsome here. Jun-kun’s jacket adds a lovely touch of color to the PV. For some reason, Ohno reminds of a monk LOL…it’s probably the beads, but still nice.

Overall, this ballad is beautiful, quite bittersweet and emotional. I love the ending:

Eien ni kanawanai
We can’t wish for eternity

Sore demo itoshii hito yo
But even so, you are the person dearest to me

You can tell that I’m a sucker for angst love. Everyone has been complaining about the title of the song — where is the snow or it’s too early for Christmas? I do not believe this is for white fluff, but holds a deeper meaning, a metaphor. Snow probably symbolizes purity, innocence and virtue. The Ooku certainly is a place without these characteristics. No matter if it houses men or women, the place is tainted with greedy, hatred, and lust. I haven’t gone a chance to read the manga yet, but am positive that Mizuno Yunoshin (portrayed by Nino) and the shogun (played by Shibasaki Kou) do not have clean slates — hidden secrets, dark past, etc. It is possible that their encounter is life changing and invigorating.

Arashi Jet in motion (CM)

LMAO! I don’t know why, but this CM was hilarious. It is mostly likely that I kept picturing the boys taking a flight and begin singing on the plane, “Moving On.. Movin On baby…!” Nevertheless, this extremely cool and amazing.

Now, if only JE and JAL would release a special PV for movin’ on starring Arashi as the pilots, passengers etc. Wouldn’t that be just awesome ne?!

Fans are going crazy over Arashi Book!

Source: Tokyohive

Daily Sports reported that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism receives more than 100 calls a day from fans who are asking about – and want to have a copy of – the “Nippon no Arashi”. The staff became overwhelmed and sent a press release about the background about the book.

The book titled “ニッポンの嵐 (Nippon no Arashi)” is a 200 colored-page textbook that will be distributed for free all over Japan’s primary, junior high, and secondary schools. The book was intended for public sale, however when Arashi were made ‘Tour Navigators’, it became a free school textbook. Starting September 1-2 books per school were donated in over 40,000 schools. The book features photos of Arashi in different locations in Japan, introducing each place’s unique tradition and culture.

Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi was glad about the popularity of the book and commented that it would be really great if everybody could read it in their libraries, and that the group had been motivated to donate the book. “Those books that you read as a child will leave an impression in you forever. We really hope that many children will read and enjoy this book”, Ohno said.

There will be no doubt that his book, once available in school libraries nationwide, will have an insanely long waiting list. And I’m sure that fans, regardless of age, would love to get their hands on this book. Too bad it’s not available for sale.

I truly love the fact that the textbook is not for sale and made it available to be shared…well in Japan for now. If only they would publish an English edition, this would certainly promote learning a new language and tourism on an international level. I would definitely get on hands on a copy.

We were thinking that if would be great if everyone could read this in their school library in the years to come, but now we have been motivated to donate the book.

Such awesome words from Oh-chan, Arashi at their finest!
