Praying that this comes true, Nam-Gil oppa is really gain popularity especially if PD Na Young-seok is interested. The article is in Chinese, but you can find the Google translation here.
PD Na is infamous for being the director of several highly entertaining and unique variety-reality shows. He normally casts well-known stars like Lee Seo-jin, Cha Seung-won, and Yoo Hae-jin. I am glad that Nam-Gil oppa has been on his radar for some time, he would make fabulous additional to Three Meals a Day. Since minimal editing occurs on reality shows, it would not limit oppa’s high-spirited, enthusiastic and cute personality. I came to adore Lee Seo-jin due Three Meals and Grandpas Over Flowers.
I can see why oppa refused this type of project before as he needed to concentrate on a single role, but he should be free now. Keep on fighting PD Na and continue to nag so oppa and his agency cannot refuse your offer! hehehe
Day 13: An underrated Kim Nam-Gil TV series or movie that deserves more attention
Live Up to Your Name, Dr. Heo is another stellar work of Nam-Gil oppa’s. While I waiting anxiously for the next episodes for The Fiery Priest back in February, I just could not let a few days go without my newly found obsession. lol This was also my pre-Bidam period, just raw Kim Nam-Gil.
Truly glad that Live Up was selected, I had an amazing ride and watched it over a course of 3 days! Not only was the drama is one of a kind and gem, it made me realize how impressive, fascinating and stunning oppa was. His eye expressions (眼神) draws you in and once you’re attracted, there is no way of letting go. XD
Time-travel is my cup of tea, perfectly executed here, fresh and different compared to the norm. The fluffy Heo Im (Nam-Gil) and his super sweet relationship with lovely Choi Yeon-Kyung (Kim Ah-Joong) brought so much happiness and joy. With their splendid chemistry, I fascinated them dating in reality at some point and really wanted them to be happily married. hehe
Live Up really deserves more recognition, it is as good as Fated to Love You, my bias for years and that’s got to say something. Without Kim Nam-Gil, I would be still stuck in a blackhole. lol Oppa needs more romcom series under his belt now. <3
On a side note, I was really happy that Eom Hyo-Seop and him reunited in this series since QSD. Lee Yo-Won pretty please be next.
Now the pic-spamming begins… lol
…and these two finally had a reunion after all of these year! lol
Day 12: Most favorite fan-made video of one of his characters
I have seen quite a few FMV of Bidam over the Internet, Moonlight (月光) is among the best. It is the themesong to 3D Chinese animation series, The Legend of Qin (秦时明月) and suits Bidam perfectly.
I am not familiar with Anson Hu (胡彥斌) until I came across this FMV and found his vocals to be powerful and unique, as well as, smooth and velvety. The way he conveys raw emotions through music is impressively beautiful.
Moonlight represents Bidam wonderfully. The lyrics showcase the different phrases of his journey, what he experienced and endured — from loneliness to love to pain. It defines the life of a skilled swordsman, often in solitude, scarred and tragic due to many different factors, much like Bidam’s. The scene selection was nicely done as well, weaving his tale to correspond with the song. :)
Whenever I watch this FMW, my heartstrings are always tugged. Poor Bidam, let me give you a hug. He would have been more suitable in a vagabond life (江湖) rather than politics. The last scene in the FMV gave me such a feeling. If he just left, he would be freed and be the master of whatever he wants. Though, I cannot ponder how much regret and sorrow, Bidam would have been without Deokman. *sigh* Though, I hate to admit this, his ending was appropriate after re-watching Queen Seondeok multiple times. lol
Crossing my fingers, maybe in the future, Nam-Gil oppa and Lee Yo-Won can be reunited in a modern series together. I don’t think Yo-Won ssi does romantic series anymore, don’t quote me on that. lol Just having the two of them sharing the screen is enough for me.
Here are the lyrics in English, Chinese and Pinyin…
Song Title: 月光 | Moonlight Singer: 胡彥斌 | Anson Hu Composer: 胡彥斌 | Anson Hu Lyricist: 林文炫 | Tiger Lin English Translation: DeniseJF
(The colour of the moonlight, the sweet fragrence of women) 月光色 女子香 yuè guāng sè nǚ zǐ xiāng
