Arashi’s Tokeijikake No Umbrella

Happy 2024, minna-san! It’s been a while since I renewed my affection for Arashi. My obsessions level has died down tremendously for the past few years, but I still find myself clicking their songs once in a while. They always help perk up my day.

Today, I came across Tokeijikake No Umbrella and have been playing it non-stop since this afternoon. I remember listening to this song when it first came out, it was an instant hit. I still love the tempo of the song — so energetic and lively. The lyrics are amazing too, up and downs of life. I was surprised that I did not share this before. Now after 16 years, I present to you the song….

Netflix’s One Piece Live Action

I watched the Netflix’s One Piece Live Action a few weeks ago and it was great! They had finally broken the “Anime Live Action” curse, hooray! Everyone was casted well, especially Luffy. I understand why Oda sensei had immediately picked him for the role. From his attitude to his personality, he is Luffy!

It would have been nice if it was a 10-episode series rather than 8, the scriptwriters would have been able to illustrate more detailed sub-stories like the ones in Syrup Village and Loguetown. I understand why they went in this direction, but there could have been more. There is hope that the 2nd season will be even better, that is the only way to go now, especially when they introduce Tony Tony Chopper.
