Favorites: Male Seiyuus

As an avid fan of anime, I’ve grown to love the work of specific seiyuus or Japanese voice actors over the years. With vivid dialogue, dynamic speeches and colorful sounds, two dimensional, dormant individuals are transformed into life. I absolutely adore them and it’s amazing how they are able to portray each character so uniquely. Here is my list of top 5, in order of favoritism:

  1. Hi and Happy Holidays to you too.
Among your favourite seiyus I really like Shinichiro Miki ( first time noticed in Yami no Matsuei and I really love in this role but I like him almost in every role) and Inoue ( first noticed in Fruit Basket Hatori, favourite…maybe Gewndal in Kyou kara Maoh, but theer are a lot of other amazing roles): I also know and appreciate Kazuyouki Konishi ( first time in Loveless, favourite Soubi and Takano Masamune ). I watched Haru wa daitata but I’haven’t noticed Morikawa -san maybe I have to re-watch it XD

    1. Heya kan-chan!

Woot another Miki-sama fan!! I absolutely adored him after watching Bleach many, many moons ago. Though, he did not become my ultimate fave until about a year ago, shame on me LOL. I blame his fabulous roles as Toshi and Lockon for my obsession LOL , but I agree that most of his characters are love. XD I wrote a little post regarding my beloved not too long ago, it can be found here if you’re interested.

As for Inoue-sensei, do you mean Günter from KKM? His portray was certainly awesome and hilarious. I was lucky enough to have seen a KKM event which he had performed live with the other cast members and loved him even more. Unfortunately, I do not recall much of Fruits Baskets and need to re-watch, I was a younglet then and didn’t care much about seiuyuu at that time. I also like his Tomomasa from Harukanaru, Nyanko-sensei from Natsume Yuujinchou, and Ibaragi Soutetsu from Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto. However, Kakashi remains unraveled as the number one stop on my list.

Same here for Morikawa-san, his role of Iwaki-san didn’t really make an impact on me until after my third watch of Haru wa Daitata. Though, the OVA does no justice to the series, it’s still entertaining with two of brilliant seiyuus. Have you heard of Arrival? It’s a duet between Iwaki-san and Katou and absolutely amazing. You can find it here. His roles as Kurosaki Isshin from Bleach, Fang Li Ren from Hanasakeru Seishounen and Conrad from KKM are equally as wonderful.

Other seiyuus that I liked which did not make it to the top 5 cut include Fukuyama, Jun (Lelouch from Code Geass), Morita Masakazu (Barnaby from Tiger & Bunny), Ono Daisuke (Shizuo from Durarara!!), Kishio Daisuke (Azuma from La Corda), Kiuchi Hidenobu (Hei from Darker than Black) and Namikawa Daisuke (Baka prince from Level E).

Happy holidays and happy new year to you as well! XD

  2. Hello and sorry for the delay but I’ve lost the link to this forum and only just now I found thata link following a search about Gyafuku song.
Thanks for Arrival I really like it both the lyric and the song. Among the jpop songs (and Miki-san ones) I also like “Believe in heaven”.
Just now I’m watching Koutestu Sangokushi. In this anime there are both Inoue-san and Miki-san in the cast. I like it but it’s quite diffcult to follow for me because it has strong connections with the chinese literature that I don’t know very well.
Among Miki-san characters I also like the samurai Yorihrisa ( Harikana no naka de) and, obviuosly, Hijikata form Hakuoki (Altought I’ven’t yet saw the whole anime).
Among the other Seyuu I know and appreciate Yun Fukuyama ( first saw in “Ghost Hund”), Namikawa Daisuke I love Baka Prince ;). I also know Daisuke Ono for Black Butler.
Other seyuus I like (and by chance they are in the Koutetsu cast) are Junichi Suwabe (Shirogane in Monochrome Factor and Matoba-san in Natsume) and Takehito Koyasu (Takahiro Giouh in Uragiri, he’s also my favourite Uragiri character). About Morikawa, well I apprecoate him in KKmaou, although I’m quite doubtfull about Conrand…
And yes I meant Gunter not Gwendal XD. Speaking of Inoue-san Although I saw some episodes of naruto series ( alot of..), I watched them in my native language dubb so I wasn’t able to apperciate the original seyuus , the same with Samurai 7 that I saw you put in your A+ list

Well happy new year and Happy Blogiversary!!

    1. Heya! Thanks for the wishes, I hope your new year has been wonderful so far!

My pleasure, Gyafuku and Arrival are certainly wonderful songs, both of my ultimate favorites. Miki-sama had performed Gyafuku live at a Haruka event a few years ago and it was certainly something not to be missed. It was such an astonishing performance, I had watched it 23222454354 times and still couldn’t get enough of it. Truly a rare and beautiful treat! Besides these two, my latest obsession is with Owaranai Yume no Naka de and I.D.E.A. ~Boku wa mainichi, yume o miru~. Both are upbeat and catchy, they seem to provide me energy when doing housework on the weekends. LOL Believe in heaven is another great one. Miki-sama really needs to release his own album, there are just too many fabulous songs out there that we need to find…I probably be the first to pre-order it.

I haven’t got a chance to watch Koutetsu Sangokushi yet, but am intrigued since the cast is quite expectational and historical aspect (my never-ending for it LOL). It appears to be a very loose adaption of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms which is quite a lengthy piece of work. But if you’re interested in the timeline used for the story, there is a nice mini summary at China-Mike.

Hehe, don’t we all love Toshi and Yorihrisa!! Though, they are quite serious when performing their duties, they have a gentle and caring side which can be cute at times. I think I’ve developed a serious fetish for men with swords/guns, who can resist them?! xD

If you get a chance, please do what Naruto in Japanese, Inoue-san’s Kakashi is just too heavenly. XD Lately, I have been become quite fond of the non-canon KakaSaku pairing. Of course, not at their current ages, maybe when Sakura is older and in her twenties. I don’t see a problem at that time since Naruto and Sasuke are just two busy catching one another. Just my two cent.

If you don’t mind, what are your favorite manga? I’ll discuss mine later since I don’t want to bore you out with another essay! LOL

      Mata, ne!
