Two human traits that turns you off?

My friends and I were having a little discussion about life a few days ago and this question had surfaced. Quite interesting and so vague. Without hesitation, my answers were greed and pessimism. No matter what age, ethnicity, or gender, I am truly sickening by anyone if their morals and attitudes are surrounded by these two words.

Greed by ~Liol on deviantART

I am talking about materialistic individuals that everything evolves around money and nothing else. I do understand the importance of a buck and its necessity in life; the desire to want more is only human. I, too, hope to get promoted and earn nicely as my professional career excels. An extra dollar can do wonders, especially if you are paying off a mortgage, loans and debt. However, for those who lay around and are content being couch-potatoes, I believe you have no right to stretch out your hand and ask for anything. Children do not fit into this category, this in reference to legal, healthy adults with no medical complications.

Even if individuals of this kind are out in the workforce, they perform the minimal and expect a huge return. This is not how the reality works…if your output is insignificant, the gain will be equal. If the extraordinary occurs, a handsome reward might await you down the road. Doing the norm is your responsibilities, perks might be there once in a while, but this is not an everyday occurrences.

Sadly, I am acquainted with some people…not by choice, but they are in my family (relatives), mainly the older Asian generation…that crave and crave for more, but their contributions are microscopic. I am not placing a stereotype on anyone, these are the people I know and have friends with similar situations. All because something has their name associated it, they conclude that they have full rights of the object, property or document. They disregard others that were involved who had slaved over years to finally earn that specific item. All they want to do is take it into their possession and leave nothing behind for the others.

You cannot even try to have a decent conversation with these individuals, they put up a verb barrier if the topic ever is crossed. They are engulfed with angry so easily since their minds are ingrained with greed. I don’t believe that deep down in their hearts that happiness is not evident, the void is just being filled temporary. This is why their appetite is never satisfied.

Now another turn off is pessimism…everything that evolves around negatively. No matter what the topic or event is, there are individuals are constantly thinking of the worst scenarios. Even if the best of the best is the outcome, they have a way of bring out the misery. It is extremely difficult in dealing with this people, I have no idea how in the world can life be so discouraging and depressing. I have experienced some low points during my time and being down in the dumps is not something I wish to continue for eternity. Who would? Hopelessness and unhappiness may surface at times, but the future can be bright and promising if you truly believe it will be. Just time a minute and smell a flower, you can see how beautiful this world is.

Sorry that this became a lengthy rambling, but I wanted to give my two cents on this. Please feel free to share yours.
