Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, a delight to see

Definitely a marvelous movie to see with beautiful visual, lovely music and wonderful voice performances by Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Emily Watson. I know that I am behind since this was released ages ago, but a great film is timeless. A dark film, my thoughts were at first, but Corpse Bride is certainly not the case. It is more of a romantic comedy with a sweet tale to be told, interwoven with a few dancing scenes and adult-oriented jokes. It has become a favorite of mine and recommended to anyone.

Matsumoto Jun – Smile synopsis

A friend of mine had recommend an article written on The Japan Times and out of the blue, I went searching for Arashi news on the site. Guess what I had found, an article providing a lovely synopsis of Smile.

…”Smile” (TBS, Fri., 10 p.m.), which stars Jun Matsumoto as Bito. In the day, Bito works at a food-processing factory and at night he moonlights at a bar.

One night, he notices one of his colleagues slipping some white powder to Yuki, a regular female patron. Later, Bito learns that Yuki has been arrested for possession of illegal drugs. The police come back to his place of employment, and Bito is afraid that he will somehow be caught up in the whole terrible affair.

Bito is so worried that he barely notices the young woman, Hana (Yui Aragaki), who has just joined the accounting department at the food-processing company. In a way, it’s easy not to notice Hana, since she has come down with an illness that has temporarily robbed her of her ability to speak.

I’m even more excited now! Though, the story is based off of a manga, it has a real-life feel to it. I just love how in the mist of darkness that a smile can really brighten and/or change one’s attitude. Jun-kun’s is especially dazzling and irresistible. XO

UPDATE: The fabulous STORMY Team will be subbing this wonderful drama.

Rescue – KAT-TUN’s awesome new song

To be frank, I am a casual listener of KAT-TUN, there is only three or four songs of theirs that had really impressed me. I really did not expect much when clicking the WMP play button last night, had only downloaded Rescue out of curiosity.

To my surprise, it has became quite an addicting song. Their voices blend in nicely with the highly catchy melody of the song along with the soul-touching lyrics. The English portions are also sang clearly. My only complaint would be the annoying rap in the mist of this harmony; never been fond of it, the only one that I can stand is Arashi’s Sho-kun.

Here are the lyrics:

Ya’ll ready? Listen up!
I’m not scared,
Until my heartbeat’s gone,
I’ll rescue you.

I don’t wanna cry alone
I don’t wanna cry alone
